- Priority points (in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training) = Regional priority points + Applicant category priority points.
- For applicants whose (Competency score + Additional points) < 75 points:
Priority points = Regional priority points + Applicant category priority points.
- For applicants whose (Competency score + Additional points) ≥ 75 points:
Priority points = [(100 – Competency score – Additional points) / 25] × (Regional priority points + Applicant category priority points)
- The conversion table for priority points is provided in Appendix 5.
- Competency score: The competency score is calculated on a 100-point scale and is determined based on the High School Competency Score (High School Graduation Examination results) and the High School Academic Performance Score.
The High School Competency Score is calculated based on the combination of three subjects in the 2026 High School Graduation Examination (or equivalent qualifications, depending on the applicant category). The High School Academic Performance Score is calculated based on the average scores over six semesters for the three subjects in the relevant subject combination during Grades 10, 11 and 12 (or equivalent academic results, depending on the applicant category).
The Competency Score is calculated for each applicant category as follows:
- Applicant Group 1.1
Competency Score = High School Competency Score × 75% + High School Academic Performance Score × 25%
High School Competency Score = (Subject 1 Score + Subject 2 Score + Subject 3 Score × 2) × 2.5
High School Academic Performance Score = (Six-Semester Average Score for Subject 1 + Six-Semester Average Score for Subject 2 + Six-Semester Average Score for Subject 3 × 2) × 2.5
- Applicant Group 1.2
Competency Score = High School Competency Score × 75% + High School Academic Performance Score × 25%
High School Competency Score = (Subject 1 Score + Subject 2 Score + Subject 3 Score × 2) × 2.5
High School Academic Performance Score = High School Competency Score
